The Microenterprise Organization of Ohio (MOO) provides assistance to Microenterprise practitioners, organizations and individuals in the effort to develop and promote the field of Microenterprise in the State of Ohio.

Are you a Microenterprise? A microenterprise is usually defined as a business having 5 or fewer employees and capital of not more than $35,000. The Ohio Department of Development further defines it as a for-profit entity with five or fewer employees, one of whom owns the business. If you are looking for microenterprise information, technical assistance for your business, or assistance accessing financing for your microenterprise please go to our Members Page to locate a local non-profit or governmental agency that may be able to assist you.

The Ohio Department of Development, Office of Housing and Community Partnerships will have approximately $600,000 available in 2009 from the Housing Trust Fund for grants to eligible cities, counties and non-profit organizations to assist in the development of local microenterprise businesses. You can click here to go to the OHCP webpage for further information. Technical assistance to help agencies complete the ODOD/OHCP grant application is available through MOO. Contact MOO for further information regarding grant application assistance and be sure to ask about technical assistance grants that may be available to eligible non-profit organizations.
